Pastor Russ and Lourdes have been involved in ministry since 1998 serving as Campus Pastors, Associate Pastors, Christian Education, and Marriage Ministry Directors including developing and facilitating several marriage conferences and over thirty marriage classes. ![]() ![]() Associates of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland, Campus Park, MD.Bachelor of Science Degree in Management of Processional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL.A Bible & Theology Degree ( Summa Cum Laude) from Canyon Hills Bible College, Bakersfield CA.Master of Arts Degree in Christian Leadership ( Summa Cum Laude) from SUM Theological Seminary, El Dorado Hill, CA.He enjoys continuous learning and is currently working on a “Doctorate in Ministry” from Asia Pacific Theological Seminary. They were married in 1991 and have two children and three grandchildren. It was in the Navy, He met the love of his life, Lourdes in 1987. He was promoted 13 pay grades, highly decorated, and awarded numerous medals, ribbons, and accolades. He served for more than 26 years, including four tours in Iraq, a humanitarian mission in Indonesia following the tsunami, and numerous additional detachments and deployments. He joined the Navy while still in High School and departed for bootcamp upon graduation in 1986. Pastor Russ Hucks was born and raised in Clanton, Alabama. It’s exciting to see what else God has in store for a body of people hungry for a deeper walk with Jesus. NBCC has a mission of reaching beyond the church walls into the community building relationships, healing through recovery and discipleship through connect groups. New Beginnings Community Church, born in a barn now in a church and recently grew to a place needing two services! God is moving in a wonderful way. Every service begins with anointed worship, presentation of the gospel through bible-based teaching, and ending with time at the altar meeting the needs of people. Connecting through RELATIONSHIPS, Healing through RECOVERY and Discipleship through RELEVANT teaching. Pastor Russ and Pastor Rodney walked through the door God opened. It was obvious, the small group needed more room and that’s when God showed up in a miraculous way, providing a beautiful small church that was looking for people and a pastor. Still more people yearning for more of God showed up and filled the small barn to capacity. Others that shared the same vision showed up and the group moved to a barn! New Beginnings birthed in a barn with humble people yearning to become connected through relationships with each other and God. Birthed in a field, a few believers gathered for prayer, worship and sharing Gods word. The Jordan Family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to all the numerous family members and friends who came to see Sam.New Beginnings Community Church was started in the hearts of two men, Russell Hucks and Rodney Williams who had a vision of God moving in the Fallon community. Pallbearers were Gary McAnally, Danny Meyer, Ricky Gandy, Keith Clements, Eric Batie, Jerry Johnston and Will Horton. He is survived by his son and daughter- in-law, Tyler and Kathryn Jordan of Chandler grandson, Truett Cranfill Jordan of Chandler brother, Mike Jordan of Edom brother, Pat Jordan and Melissa Davis of Edom nephew, John Jordan II of New York nephew, Nathan and Valene Jordan of Edom niece, Ashley Mosley of Van great-niece, Livia Jordan of Edom great-nephew, Lathan Jordan of Edom many cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, C.A. Sam was known for his outgoing personality. ![]() Sam enjoyed playing dominoes, playing his guitar at church, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to Texas A&M football and baseball games with Tyler. Sam became a devout Aggie fan when his son, Tyler, went to Texas A&M. He worked at Jordan’s, the family business, most of his life. Sam was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until it closed and then New Beginnings Community Church in Edom. He graduated from Van High School in 1973 and then earned an Associate’s Degree from Tyler Junior College where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was born March 8, 1955, in Tyler to Cranfill Alexander “C.A.” Jordan and Frances Merle Gandy Jordan. 2, 2023, in Edom surrounded by his loved ones. Interment was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton. Services for Samuel William “Sam” Jordan, 68, of Edom, were held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at New Beginnings Community Church in Edom with Brother Shelby Davidson officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
